Even Burt Myers put the blame on Stenhouse Jr for the incident.

It was definitely the 47. … His bumper and I’m in the infield, so I guess that tells the story… It was an awesome experience. I just hate for it to end the way it did… but we had a great time.

Burt Myers said on his post-race interview.

Burt Myers didn’t have the car he liked at Bowman Gray

On his post-race interview, Burt Myers said that he had a great time. But he didn’t have the quality car he expected to have in the race and that hindered his progress. Then the crash involving Stenhouse Jr. ended any chance of him bouncing back.

The experience has been awesome. I tried to bide my time, and we didn’t have the car we thought we needed to get the job done completely there at the end, we were picking them off one at a time and I think we gained four or five spots there. I got shoved into the 47 [Stenhouse] and pushed him out…I don’t know if he was upset about that or what. But we ended up hitting the wall.

Burt Myers said.

The comments from Myers suggest that Stenhouse can’t solely be blamed for the star driver missing out on the main event, as the can underdelivered. But that will not stop the fans from putting some blame on the Hayk racer.
