The 1.54-mile track in Hampton, Georgia has undergone major changes prior to this years’ run at the speedway, leaving most of the racers reconsidering their approach this weekend. The track has been made to feel more like a superspeedway given the fact that it went through way beyond a fresh coat of paints since the last race here.

Martin Truex Jr. told Fox Sports that he has no idea as to how the track might play out and he added the third corner being three-wide might affect competitiveness among the drivers.

“I have no idea, I don’t see it being three-wide in the corners. But it could be. I don’t know that the third lane could be competitive. You never know. It’s going to be crazy,” said Martin Truex Jr.

The track has been installed with steeper banks and narrow corners making it more like racing at the Daytona or Talladega. This raised many concerns among drivers as superspeedway racing might often lead to big wrecks as it involves pack racing. To find out if Martin Truex Jr. emerges victorious at the FOLDS OF HONOR QUIKTRIP 500, tune in to Fox Sports 1 on March 20th.
