The NASCAR Cup garage is at  Indianapolis this weekend for the Brickyard 400, marking the return of the series to the original oval track of IMS. This is a special event for many drivers and fans, as the track holds a unique place in the Motorsports world. The Next-Gen cars debut at the Oval is expected to be an impressive event.

Four times Cup champion and Hendrick Motorsports VC, Jeff Gordon is coming into the weekend hoping to see his driver William Byron win the race. Gordon has won five races at Brickyard, with the No:24 car being in the victory lane in 1994, 2004 and 2014. The Hall of Famer expect Byron to continue this streak and legacy.

Yeah! William Byron in 2024! I didn’t realize that (until) somebody had mentioned that to me the other day. I don’t know how exactly all that came together and why, but the track was special — special to me personally and special to our team.
Jeff Gordon told NASACR.com.

Jeff Gordon went on to admit that it would be really cool to see his 24-car back on the victory lane again. He wants them to continue the wild win streak.

And everything happens for a reason. I’m a big believer in that, and so the numbers don’t lie. It is just something about the 24 and the fours at Indianapolis. That’d be pretty cool to see that happen again this year
Jeff Gordon added.

William Byron is ready for the Brickyard challenge

William Byron is happy at Brickyard Oval returning to schedule over-the-road courses. He has had Oval Xfinity wins and Road Course Cup wins at the track. He is now ready to challenge the new hurdle and secure another victory at the iconic Motor Speedway.

It was a bit of an adjustment when I got to the Cup level but I really think we were hitting our stride before it was taken off the schedule. Things will be a bit different now racing there with the Next Gen car, but I like the challenge.
William Byron said.

The No:24 team has to step and deliver for their driver as well as Jeff Gordon. They have been a bit off the pace in the last few weekends and getting a good performance out of the Chevy this Sunday would be enough for them to get back on top again and challenge his teammates for yeh regular season championship.
