Jesse Iwuji motorsports set to replace owner-driver Jesse Iwuji for the Richmond Xfinity Series Race

Jesse Iwuji motorsports have announced that their owner-driver Jesse Iwuji will be replaced by another young driver for the 2022 Richmond Xfinity series race. Jesse Iwuji will hand over the Keys of the No:34 Chevrolet Camaro as part of their driver development initiative.

Missouri native Kyle Weatherman, who has already made 5 starts for DGM Racing this season so far will make his JIM debut this weekend. The team confirmed that Jesse Iwuji selected Kyle Weatherman for his appreciation of law enforcement and the Military. They also have taken into account the skill Weatherman possesses in terms of short-track racing.

Kyle Weatherman has been making positive strides in NASCAR following his debut in 2019 and has produced some decent finishes. He will have a strong fight in front of him for the race entry as only 38 spots are available for the 42 drivers that have made the entry list.

JI motorsports in a press release said that their main driver and owner Iwuji has taken a step back from behind the wheels to present young drivers an opportunity as part of its driver development initiative. They welcomed Kyle Weatherman to the grid for the April 2nd race and added that they will be extending the program for other drivers.

“Being a driver and owner comes with an option each weekend to be either a driver or owner. This week Jesse decided to build upon the opportunity generating system the Jesse Iwuji motorsports group has set out to develop by providing an opportunity for an additional driver to drive the [No. 34] e-Racing Association Chevrolet Camaro SS,” JIM said in a press release.

“On behalf of the entire ownership group at Jesse Iwuji Motorsports, we are excited to announce that we are giving this weekend’s opportunity to Kyle Weatherman at Richmond Raceway this Saturday, April 2,” Jesse Iwuji motorsports added.
