The 2024 season saw the announcement that shocked the whole NASCAR garage from Stewart Haas Racing. SHR revealed that they are ceasing their operations at the end of the year and would become Haas Factory Team, with Tony Stewart’s exit.  They would field two Xfinity cars and one Cup car, with 2023 Xfinity Series champion Cole Custer as their driver.

Joe Custer, who would lead the new team from the 2025 season, recently discussed the challenges that is ahead of team and the advantages they have. He admitted that with the Ford partnership ad RFK Racing deal, they don’t have any lack of resources and are putting together a team capable of competing for wins.

Along with Ford as a partner, we’re lacking no resources going into next year. People-wise, human capital, I’m happy to say we’re well on the way there to putting together the team capable of competing for wins.
Joe Custer told Motorsports.com.

He went onto reveal that the team is focussed on everything related to human capital required to be a top-contender and admitted that the team won’t have excuses going into next-season. Custer asserts that they got everything from driver to crew chief to succeed.

We’re focused on everything related to human capital, from the pit crew to engineering resources. So, we won’t have any excuses going into next year. We’ve got the driver, we’ve got the team, we’ve got the relationship, we’ve got the OEM.
Joe Custer added.

Joe Custer affirms Gene Haas is committed for the team

While further talking further on the topic, Custer asserted that his team-owner and long-time partner Gene Haas, is fully committed to the project. He also asserted that software development and sim would be future of racing and Haas is committed to it as well.

The resources necessary are different. Gene is committed to it. I think the future is more things like software development, sim, a different set of tools in the toolbox.
Joe Custer said.

HFT has upped the stake for the 2025 season and beyond with the comments. It seems they are going all in to be successful again like the SHR days. It would be interesting to see what the future holds for them in the next-season and beyond.
