Josh Villiams indirectly SLAMS “rich kid’ Ty Gibbs for the big one at Sonoma Xfinity Series race
Ty Gibbs wasn’t actually fully to blame for the incident.

The NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma saw huge wreck that involved over ten cars, including Ty Gibbs, Chandler Smith and Josh Villiams. The big one occurred during a restart with just 30 laps left in the race. Veteran Villiams who got caught up in the mess was furious after the race and called out racers involved in it.
He indirectly targeted Joe Gibbs Racing’s Cup driver Ty Gibbs who drove the No:19 Toyota as part of his part-time entry. Willaims claimed that rich kids with a bad pit stop ruined the race. Just before the restarts, Gibbs pitted and owing to a poor stop, he dropped down 10 positions. Hence it can be assumed that the veteran was aiming at Gibbs with the dig.

It's what happens when you send to the rich kids to the back with a bad pit stop and they're gonna win the race with 30 laps to go.Josh Williams said at Sonoma.

??
But the incident wasn’t actually the fault of Joe Gibbs’s grandson on the first look. Just like the Kaulig driver he was also caught up in the middle of the multi-car crash. It would be interesting to see how the drama might play out between the two in the future when the No:54 Cup driver makes part-time Xfinity starts or Willimas races in the premier division.
Ty Gibbs pulled off a wild move to get out of the wreck
After getting caught in the wreck, the 2022 Xfinity Series champion had to use some inventive move to get out of all the chaos. He had to do a donut to turn his car which was spun backwards during the clash and while doing so he made contact with multiple cars. This might have been the incident that triggered Josh Williams.
Gibbs is already over the incident as he has a Cup series race to take care of On Sunday. He has qualified at P10 for the Toyota Save Mart 350 and will be hoping to land his maiden Cup win this week, but it would be a hard task.

He has been producing solid performance throughout the 2024 season but hasn’t been able to convert it to wins. Gibbs will be hoping that he can get it done in the road course race, as such events has always been productive for him.
