Trackhouse Racing was one of the two teams that entered NASCAR just before the Next-Gen era and since the 7th Gen car was introduced, the team has become one of the best in the garage. They have been part of many impressive project in the sport, with the most successful one being the Project 91, where they field cars for champion international racers in the Cup series.
Three times Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen making his full-time Cup debut in 2025, is a testament to the program’s success. Unfortunately, the team didn’t field any cars for new drivers in 2024 and now the co-owner Justin Marks has addressed rumors that it might be coming to an end. He confirmed that the Project is still alive, for next season.
It’s certainly – Project 91 is certainly not dead. I would expect to see that on the racetrack sooner rather than later. What I love about it is, you know, it’s like our first Project 91 graduate. You know, we did this deal and turned it into, from an amazing kind of one-off or two-off even in 23, great little program for Project 91 turning into like a real thing in the sport.
Justin Marks said via Race Industry Week.
While further talking about the point, he asserted that they would be fielding cars for another racing superstar soon. He also highlighted that the team already have good sponsorship and partners supporting the team as well.
A real, some great star power, great new personality, someone who’s committed full time. Shane moved to the States, changed his complete life to be a Cup driver. I think that’s really, really fun and one that’s resonated with a lot of people. We’ve got great partners on that car.

Justin Marks explains why the team didn’t field cars for the 2024 season
The former racer while talking in the same event, pointed out that the team failed to field any special cars in 2024 other than the occasional outing of SVG. He admitted that the team had too much on their shoulders and couldn’t make any arrangement for other potential racers.

The only reason it wasn’t on the racetrack in 2024 this year was that we just had so much going on. We had so much going on with the third car that we prepared for a few races for SVG and then helping him over at Kaulig.

The comment from Marks suggests that the team is looking forward to the new chapter of Project91. It will be interesting to see which star driver they can rope in for the 2025 Cup season and how they would perform.
