One of the most successful undertakings from a NASCAR team in this decade has been the Project 91, from Trackhouse Racing. The young Chevy racing team introduced this in the 2023 season, as a pathway for racing legends from other disciplines to experience premier stock car racing while growing the Trackhouse brand.
Under the leadership of Justin Marks, the team they have given opportunities to the likes of Shane van Gisbergen, Kimi Raikkonen, and Helio Castroneves. The former has now become a full-time NASCAR diver dominating the road courses, as he won the 2025 Rookie of the Season title with five Cup wins to his name.
Recently there has been rumors that the Project 91 might be dead, with Trackhouse Racing venturing into different racing ventures such as MotoGP. Now in an interview with Sports Business Journal, the owner of the team Justin Marks has given an update on the future of the project that has last fielded car for Helio Castroneves in 2025 Daytona 500.
The veteran has highlighted that he has talked many big names in the sport and is close to signing a new deal, alongside exploring many good opportunities. He also revealed how Project 91 start from the team securing a sponsor and then work with the partners to find an athlete from the pool they have to drive the Chevy.
Where Project 91 is now is we go promote the program in the sponsorship market and sign a sponsor, and then we try to work with the sponsor on what kind of athlete they’d like to see. I would bet on it coming back in ’26, and we’re pretty close to getting that deal done. There’s some good opportunities.

Justin Marks shares his thoughts on Red Bull sponsorship
There is no bigger sponsor in the motorsport world that Red Bull, that has deals with either teams or drivers in almost all racing series in the world. They had their presence in the NASCAR as a sponson as well as a team, before multiple years of mediocre performances force them to cease operations.

Now they have marked their return with Shane van Gisbergen and the biggest prospect of stock car racing at the moment, Conor Zilisch. Both these drivers are set to sport the iconic brand in the 2026 Cup season, where the latter will make his debut. Justin Marks is beyond excited about this opportunity.
This company is as good of a brand as there is in motorsports, and a tremendous amount of assets across the world. They know everything about racing that you would want a partner to know about.
Justin Marks explained.
Further talking about the point, he highlighted how ambitious Red Bull are and how they have a robust plan to develop their brand around Trackhosue drivers. He sees this as the start of a bog partnership between them that won’t be constrained to stock car racing.
They’ve got a very ambitious and robust plan for activation and promotion around the partnership and there’s a lot of opportunity to scale it beyond just the NASCAR team, so there’s a lot of really great conversations happening there.
Justin Marks added.
Trackhouse Racing is the fastest growing brands in NASCAR and having Red Bull, one of the biggest marketing forces in the world, is only going to help them grow more. It will be interesting to see how Justin Marks is going to take advantage of the situation.
