Since Matt Kaulig joined the team and they were rebranded to Kaulig Racing, the Chevy team has been on an impressive rise. They are one of the consistent contenders for wins in the Xfinity Series, especially road courses and in the Cup series they are consistent front runners in the almost all of the non-oval race.
Coming into to the 2024 season, they were expected to grow much more with veterans Shane van Gisbergen and AJ Allmendinger as teammates in the Xfinity series. But other than a handful of race wins in NXS, their progress seems to have stagnated a bit. This stirred up rumors that the majority shareholder of the team Matt Kaulig is looking for a way out of the Cup series.
With Daniel Hemric not hitting the mark like AJ did last season and the part-time entries from the likes SVG not being successful, the rumors seem to be with merit. Chris Rice, the team President, has come forward addressing these claims. He asserted that Kaulig won’t be leaving Cup Series anytime soon and he is in for the long haul in the sport.
On SiriusXMNASCAR this morning, @KauligRacing President Chris Rice says they have been working on their driver lineup for 2025 and “looking forward to announcing that pretty soon. Matt’s (Kaulig) is in it for the long hall” despite rumors of Kaulig Racing merging or leaving Cup.Next Line Racing reported.
Chris Rice also confirms that both Shane Van Gisbergen and @AJDinger will both run the #NASCAR Cup Series race at @WGI. Presumably SVG in the No. 16 and AJ in the No. 13. pic.twitter.com/IaXZSAKHvp

Kaulig Racing reveals their Watkins Glen Cup lineup
The upcoming road course race Watkins Glen is a race that the team is looking forward to as the season restarts this week. They are hoping to get back to contending for wins in the top tier and is set to field cars for both of their veterans.
It is reported that the Trackhosue Racing loanee Shane van Gisbergen will drive the No:16 Chevy with hopes of scoring wins like he did in the second tier. He would be joined by AJ Allmendinger in the No:13 Chevy with the hopes of repeating past triumphs.
The team would have been working hard on the cars in the Olympics breaks and would be hoping to get results on Sunday. Most often than not it’s the car and not the drivers that has caused disappointments for the team this season, hence the crew desperately need a redeeming run.
