The second factor is the whole dram around 23XI Racing. They refused to sign the 2025-2031 charter deals and are now close to participating in the championship as open teams, despite signing a new driver for the new season. This is going to financially strain the team and negatively affect their championship dreams.

The third factor is the ongoing anti-trust lawsuit against NASCAR they team has filed alongside FRM. It is expected to be dragged in the court for over two years unless NASCAR and teams agrees on a deal outside the court. This is going to put a lot of pressure on Hamlin and his entourage as well.
