The NASCAR community has found themselves in a bigger mess, after chats between the top leaders of the sport were unsealed as part of the ongoing charter lawsuit filed by 23XI Racing and FRM. The most controversial chat was from the Commissioner of the sport, Steve Phelps insulting RCR’s Hall of Fame boss Richard Childress, calling him a stupid redneck and more.

These not only irked the racing community, but the seven times championship inning team as well, who has now shared a public statement hinting at legal actions. The drama needs to be fixed immediately and ex-racer Kenny Wallace on his YouTube channel has explained how the leadership needs to immediately have personal meeting with the veteran.

First thing you have to do is get on your jet and fly up to Welcome, North Carolina, and get a meeting with Richard Childress.

Kenny Wallace said via his YouTube channel.

He pointed out that the likes of Steve O’Donnell, Steve Phelps and the billionaire CEO of the sport Jim France need to involve in the meeting. Wallace insisted that the clean-up mission should start from the top of the leadership structure and they should film parts of the meeting as part of the PR mission to get over the controversy.

Oh, yeah. Bring along Steve O’Donnell and have a little meeting with him. But then you’re also going to have to do all this in front of the cameras. And it would probably be best if our leader, Jim France, did that. Starts at the very top. And then while you’re at it, Jim, you might want to bring along Steve Phelps.

These leaked messages are just confirming what some of us lived firsthand. Challenge them and you’re the enemy. Question them and you get crushed. Build something without them and you’re a target. Stop serving their agenda and suddenly you’re just another ‘stupid redneck.’

Jeremy Mayfield posted on Facebook.

He asserted that these are the reason why NASCAR is one of the less transparent sports ever and insisted that those who thinks these revelations are shocking were just misinformed about the sport. He specifically mentioned the redneck comment and supposed retaliation against Richard Childress.

This is who they are and who they’ve always been behind closed doors. People call it shocking. It’s not. And now their own words are doing what they tried to do to everyone else, BURYING them. Suddenly all these ‘stupid rednecks’ can read just fine.

Jeremy Mayfield added.

While some of the comments from Mayfield are product his resentment to the NASCAR leadership, he is right is some regards. The chats exposed the toxic culture within the leadership and how it is affecting the racing community as a whole.
