Seven times NASCAR Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt is one of the most successful drivers in the racing scene, but in his personal life he experienced limited success. Since his tragic death in 2001 Daytona 500, the Earnhardt family dynamic become worse. Now, Seniors eldest son Kerry Earnhardt has publicly called out his step mom via social media.

Terresa Earnhardt, the legendary racer’s third wife, inherited the Dale Earnhardt Inc. and his whole estate after the death. She never had good relationship with the children of Senior, all of whom are significant figures in NASCAR, and has had many battles in the court over the years, regarding legacy and financial issues.

The most recent incident in the drama that has been going on for two decades, comes from latest business venture of Terresa Earnhardt using the land owned by Dale Sr. in in Mooresville, North Carolina. She has applied for rezoning of 399 acre Rural Residential/Agriculture land to Industrial, in order to build a $30 billion worth data centre.

Kerry Earnhardt hates this proposal, that would be discussed Mooresville Board of Commissioners early next week and shared his disgust with in on a Facebook post. He admitted that he is ashamed of the Earnhardt family name being dragged into such a big mess and pointed out that the rezoning is going to affect the thriving community in the area.

My Dad would be livid for his name to be associated in this title! Frankly, I’m ashamed our family name is involved in the request to rezone a community that is thriving as a Rural Residential/Agriculture zone to be changed to Industrial.

Why Dale Earnhardt’s son Kerry Earnhardt hates the rezoning idea?

Further discussing the situation on his social media post, Kerry Earnhardt asserted that industrial Infrastructure doesn’t belong in a neighbourhood where the people thrive using natural resources. The pollution and massive changed that will be made to environment is too serious to be overlooked while giving green light to the project.

Infrastructures like this don’t belong in neighborhoods where people’s natural resources will be depleted, wildlife will be uprooted, and the landscape and lives of the people that call this area home with forever be changed.

Kerry Earnhardt added.

He pointed out that the community needs more homes to be build on the area and more land development that would positively impact the community as a while. Just like many residents in the Mooresville area is looking forward for the meeting and results of the meeting on the Town Hall where all the parties can make their case for and against the project.

I’d rather see homes built with people loving the land we live on… the way his area was intended to be! I look forward to Monday’s meeting at the Mooresville Town Hall.

Kerry Earnhardt asserted.

This isn’t first time the duo has found themselves in a public dispute. A decade ago, Kerry and Terressa got involved in a copyright dispute, which was won by the former in the court with his brother Dale Earnhardt Jr. and sister Kelly Earnhardt Miller publicly supporting him when it mattered the most. It would be interesting the see if the recent drama will see the same results.
