Kurt Busch set to ‘drive for win’ alongside Travis Pastrana in ROC ending two-year racing break
2004 NASCAR Cup champion Kurt Busch will make his racing return with a ROC entry as the teammate of Travis Pastrana.

The 2025 motorsports season will mark the racing return of Kurt Busch, who has been inactive for over two years. In 2022, during the practice session at Pocono he suffered a severe concussion costing his rest of the season and the next year. He was forced to make the decision of retiring from the Cup, and has been enjoying his life outside the track.
Kurt Busch, the 2004 Cup champion, has joined Travis Pastrana in the American Super Team for the unique 2025 Race of Champions race, at Accor Stadium in Sydney on the first week of March. The duo has been teammates before, as the later has driven together for 23XI Racing in the 2022 Daytona 500.,
The veteran got the medical clearance to race again recently and Pastrana decided invite the champion driver when the opportunity presented itself. He is honoured to have received another shot at an ROC event and asserted that he always has been looking for an invite to the event. Being the IROC champion from 2003 makes him and Pastrana a strong team.

The president of ROC, Fredrik Johnsson, who is also the co-owner of the event is excited about giving Busch the opportunity. He pointed out that the ex-23XI racer has been ultra-motivated in the last few months and is looking forward to win the championship, alongside Travis Pastrana.
The comments from Fredrik Johnsson shows, it not just the fans of Kurt Busch but the IROC leadership is also equally excited about the champion driver’s return. It will be interesting to see how he will perform in the event that will feature the likes of, Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas, Will Brown, Sébastien Loeb and Mick Schumacher.
