The career 2004 NASCAR Cup series champion Kurt Busch had a sad ending. The future Hall of Famer was forced to retire from racing following injury while he was with 23XI Racing. He was initially planning sit-out the reminder of the season to make a comeback but was never able to do it owing the slow recovery.
The crash during the practice session of the 2022 Pocono Cup race wasn’t the first crash he has had over his two-decade long career, but the concussion and injury he suffered was taxing. Kurt Busch recently recalled him going to the hospital every week and checking everything, to solve the issue with vestibular movement issue he had.
It was taxing for a while. Basically, every other day it was a doctor visit somewhere and going to get hearing checked, eyes checked, balance checked. The vestibular movements were what was greatly affected.
Kurt Busch told RACER.
But even after over three years, he isn’t fully healed, and the effect of the crash still lingers for him. Few things though have calmed down as the physical therapy has helped him recover to a certain extent.
I still feel the lingering effects but it has calmed down, and it has been through all the physical therapy and all the great doctors who have helped me.
Kurt Busch added.
Kurt Busch claims he feels much better his health
In the same interview, Kurt Busch also asserted that he is currently feeling much better about the situation he is in. All the physical therapy and different neurologist visits has paid off them, helping him get his life back.

I’m feeling much, much better since the summer wreck in 2022 and all of the different physical therapy, different neurologist visits.
Kurt Busch said.
The veteran racer might still make a return to NASCAR with odd starts in the Xfinity or Truck series in the future, but the possibility is limited. The whole racing community would be over the moon if his NASCAR return happens.
