Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson made is Indy 500 debut last Sunday with HendrickCars.Com sponsored Arrow McLaren Chevy. His double duty attempt didn’t go as planned as the mother nature was against the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion. The Indy 500 was postponed for hours over a rain delay.

Kyle Larson debut race ended in a P18 finish, which was nothing close to what he envisioned considering he started the race on P5 and had a good car. It’s disappointing run while considering the P2 finish of his McLaren teammate Pato o’Ward. While talking about the result before flying to Charlotte for the Coca-Cola 600, he admitted that he is pretty upset with the result.

Proud to finish but pretty upset at myself. If I could have executed a better race, you never know what could happen.
Kyle Larson told NBC.

While the result is disappointing, it isn’t something he should be dis-heartened about. If not for the speeding penalty that sent him a lap down, Larson would have had a better finish at Brickyard. The rain-delay and all the drama surrounding it might have made him feel this, as he has been working hard over the last two years.

I would definitely love to be back next year.
Kyle Larson said.

It would be great to see Kyle Larson attempting the Indy 500 again in the coming year as the 2024 Double was ruined by the rain. While Larson’s 2025 outing might not have the same buzz as it had for his debut, three will still a lot opportunities for NASCAR, IndyCar and HMS to explore if he gets another shot.
