Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson came into this week with a lot of hopes and dreams. But unforternally the mother nature played against him, as his attempt at the Indy 500-Coca-Cola 600 double ended in a disappointment. He failed to score the desired finish at Brickyard and wasn’t able to race enough at Charlotte.

A massive delay in the Indy 500 due to heavy rain, made HMS to make a tough choice. They had to start the 600-miles race without Kyle Larson behind the wheels, as Justin Allgier took the wheels, before giving it back once the 2021 Cup champion flew back to CMS. He came to the NASCAR race “pretty upset” over the finishing just P18 at Brickyard.

While talking to the media about the disappointing end to his race week, Larson pointed out that he feels really sad about how his race week ended. He admitted that everything that could’ve gone wrong went wrong for him in the weekend he was looking forward top for a longtime. Larson expects the same wouldn’t happen if he gets to do it again.

I don’t know. I’m very very thankful for the experience, obviously. Everything about the two weeks and all that was great until today, so just uh, sad… Yeah it’s just sad. Everything that could have went wrong today, went wrong. So, hopefully, hopefully get to do it again in the future and hopefully weather is better next time.

Kyle Larson feels he learned a lot at Indy 500

While talking about his race at Brickyard, Kyle Larson pointed out that he learned a lot from the race. He also highlighted how he learned from the initial mistakes on the restarts and made it better as the race progressed.

I feel like I learned a lot throughout the race. I made a couple mistakes early there with the restart. I'm not sure what I did wrong there, but I somehow got myself in a third. I feel like I did a really good job on the restarts and was able to learn a lot.
Kyle Larson told NBC.

With valuable firsthand experience, if Kyle Larson gets another shot at the Indy 500 next-season, he would be producing a solid race. He deserves to get a second chance next-season or in the future as the rain delay ruined his hard work.
