Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson became the only 6th driver from NASCAR to attempt the iconic Indy 500-Coca Cola 600 double during the memorial weekend this season. But unfortunately, his attempt was ruined because of rain. He failed to start in the race at Coke 600 as he wasn’t able get back to charlotte before the rain-delay.

During the Brickyard 400 race week Kyle Lason was asked about the potential of him attempting the double again as the 2024 attempt was ruined. The No:5 Chevy driver is determined make it happen and is hopeful the all pieces would fall into places soon and he would be able to try his luck again next season.

So yeah, I hope that the pieces can fall into place, and we can hopefully get things put together, and announce something, and you know, get excited about doing The Double next year.
Kyle Larson told Bob Pockrass.

While Larson is really excited for the move, his team Hendrick Motor Sports seems to have some reservations about it. Team owner Rick Hendrick was asked a potential entry like last season at Indy by the fans and he confirmed that the team hasn’t yet made decision on it. Last year this time the decision was already announced.

Kyle Larson asserts he feels his 2024 attempt was incomplete

Before giving the hope verdict, Larson pointed out that in his mind he didn’t complete The Double last season. The 2021 Cup champion is wishing to get a second chance at The Double and do it properly in the 2025 season.

I don’t know. I don’t know. I mean, we’ve definitely been talking about it, and I think weighing, you know, what’s important, to everybody. So, it sounds good, I’ll say, so far, but things could change. So, yeah, we’ll see. I would obviously love to do it. I think everybody knows, that I would love to do it, because in my mind, I did not get to do it this year. I didn’t get to, at least do The Double.
Kyle Larson said.

It is very likely that Kyle Larson would get his second chance next-season during the memorial weekend. But nothing is a guarantee, since the NASCAR side of things would be the primary focus of Hendrick Motorsports always.
