Kyle Larson claims he “would like” to race more in IndyCar under one condition ahead of 2024 Indy 500 debut

Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson is set to make his Indy 500 debut this season with Arrow McLaren. He would drive the Chevy powered McLaren machinery with HMS owner Rick Hendrick as the sponsor. Larson has had his full experience driving the car during the practice which was cut short due to rain and has had some strong runs.

During the practice weekend the 2021 Cup champion was asked about the potential of him returning to race in Indy 500 or any other IndyCar race after the race at Brickyard. Kyle Larson is open to race again in the sport under one condition. If the 2024 experience goes right and didn’t scare him, he is open to do it.

At the moment Larson is not too much focused on the future, as he is all focused on executing the double weekend to perfection. He is hoping to do better than his inspiration Tony Stewart, who is the only driver to complete both the Indy 500 and the Coco Cola 600, as all other NASCAR drivers who have attempted the double duty had DNFed in one of the two.

Kyle Larson explains why it’s hard for him to race in IndyCar

While further talking about the point, Kyle Larson pointed out that it’s hard for a full-time NASCAR driver like him to race in IndyCar. This because of the fact that most of the races the championship’s has often collide with each other and Larson always prefer the stock racing.

The IndyCar schedule kind of overlaps with NASCAR, and other forms of motorsports do as well. As long as I'm a full-time guy, I don't think there's a whole lot that I can do, but there's definitely stuff that I’d like to do in the future.

The NASCAR nation is expecting a lot from Larson in the memorial weekend. Many prominent figures in the racing community expects him to be a contender in the Indy 500. Larson, with the cars he has, will have the best opportunity of win both the races in the race week.
