Hendrick Motorsports’ 2021 Cup champion Kyle Larson made a statement last Sunday when he secured his fifth win of the season in the R16 cutoff race at Bristol. The No:5 Chevy team had the best car of the day and executed to perfection, earning him the win over motivated Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin.

Going into the next-round Kyle Larson will be facing a similar level of challenge, with three different tracks that can offer the same level of chaos as the R-16. He is doesn’t have much stress thinking about the races at Kansas and Talladega, where he has been good in the past. He even admitted he is more comfortable with Dega than Atlanta.

It’s like, okay, if I can go to Kansas and do a really good job and get good stage points, get a good finish, you have a little bit more comfort going to Talladega rather than Atlanta. You finish dead last and it’s like, you’re kind of stressed the whole time.

But Charlotte Roval is a track of concern for him as it has produced some of the most stressful moments of his playoff career. He wants to enter the race with less pressure on his shoulders to leave some rooms for potential errors. Larson admitted that racing at Roval for him is more stressful than Dega, though the latter is the most chaotic Superspeedway off all-time.

The Roval to me, I’ve had a lot of stressful moments there throughout my playoff career…Hopefully we’re in a better position once we get there and can have less stress because it’s pretty stressful. It’s more stressful than Talladega for sure.

Kyle Larson explains how HMS drivers work together

All four of the Hendrick Motorsports drivers are in the run for the championship and constitute to 1/3 of the R-12 grid giving them a massive advantage.  One of the reasons for their success is helping each other out and working towards the common goal of delivering the championship to boss Rick Hendrick.

We just try to help each other out. We want Rick and Linda Hendrick to have the best odds going into Phoenix to win a championship in the 40th season. You don’t do that by not working together.
Kyle Larson said.

The team has been successful in achieving this goal and having all-4 in the running gives them a massive edge in the second round of post-season. But it will not be the same once the post-season reaches R-8. There the driver has to bit selfish, but at end of the day the more they work together the more they are going to win.
