The NASCAR Cup series will return to the iconic Bowman Gray Stadium after 53 years, with the Busch Clash. The whole racing community had huge expectations about the race, as the short track is infamous for huge crashes, aggressive racing and fans who are among the most passionate of any supporter base in the motorsport world.

Hendrick Motorsports’ 2021 Cup champion Kyle Larson is one of the top drivers who has experienced the craziness of the track and is determined to have an impressive race. In a recent interview he recalled going into the track to see Modified car races, seeing an impressive race the way he expected it to be.

I don’t remember much about the race but I remember I went into the stands to watch the Modifieds afterwards and that was my first time just being a fan there and it was everything I was hoping it would be.

He then shared that he has watched the Madhouse documentary and knows how crazy the fan base is. Larson got the firsthand experience of the craziness as a fan multiple time and he is hoping that the NASCSAR fans will have the same feeling this time.

I had watched the Madhouse documentary thing and the crowd was rowdy. We went back once or twice since then but the crowd was really crazy that night so I hope it’s like that.

Alex Bowman shares his cool experience from Bowman Gray

Kyle Larson’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate Alex Bowman also has similar experience as a race fan at the track. He recalled seeing a pace car get flipped off, something he has never seen before and sees it as something pretty cool.

I went to a race there one day, the year we ran K&N, I just wanted to go see it the weekend before. I had never seen a pace car driver get flipped off until Bowman Gray. It was pretty cool.

Alex Bowman said.

The comments from Alex Bowman shows the craziness NASCAR fans can expect going into the madhouse. It would be interesting to see how entertaining the short track event will be with the Next-Gen cars.
