Coming into the 2025 Cup Series season, Kyle Larson was perceived as the driver to beat owing to his impressive form in the Next-Gen era and many wanted this to be season he wins his second championship. He started the year string securing three wins within the first three months of the season. The veteran hasn’t had much success since and is determined to get more wins.
Kyle Larson redeemed himself from the disappointing R-16, where he as well as all of his Hendrick Motorsports teammates struggled, at New Hampshire last week earning 41 points. Kansas being one his best track gives him a great opportunity to create enough buffer from the cutline ahead of the ROVAL road course race, where he most probably will not be a contender for a win.
We had a great Louden and we’re plus 41. We’re going to Kansas, a good track for us. Hopefully, we can have another good point stay and be well above the cut line before the Roval.

If Kyle Larson is able to get out of the R-12, he has a comparatively easy path towards the championship-4 race at Phoenix Raceway. The R-8 will feature three tracks where he has always been solid at, starting with Las Vegas. It’s a track where he can either win or earn the maximum points, if he gets a good car.
Get through this round, and then Vegas is a great track for us. So, we could hopefully go there, be awesome to get a win, but if not, hopefully have a good points day.

The second race would be at the iconic Talladega, the only Superspeedway where Kyle Larson has always been able to deliver consistently, unlike Daytona and Atlanta where he is more prone to getting wrecked. Final race of the season being at Martinsville, one of his bets track in the 7th gen era gives him a solid shot at making into the finale.
Talladega, I feel like we do a really good job on Speedways of gaining points and getting good finishes now this year. And then honestly, Martinsville has been one of our better tracks. So, I really like the next round.

Kyle Larson shared his thoughts on NASCAR-IndyCar double header at Phoenix
In the same interview, Kyle Larson shared his thoughts on the NASCAR-IndyCar double header next-year at Phoenix. He sees this as an awesome and exciting opportunity. Larson is the only active stock car racing driver alongside Jimmie Johnson with IndyCar experience, as the HMS driver raced in the Indy 500 last in 2024 & 2025.

I think it’s awesome. I love crossover motorsports. That’s kind of what I’m all about. I heard about it, and when I saw the schedule released, I got really excited.
Kyle Larson said.
Further talking about the point, he asserted that it’s going to be a great opportunity for the racing fans to have the double weekend, with all the high-profile racers in USA being at the same venue the same time. He appreciated both the series for planning of such an event.
I think it’s going to be great just for the fans to get to experience a lot of different racing that weekend, some high-profile racing. So, kudos to both series for collaborating, and hopefully we can see more of that in the future.
Kyle Larson added.
The veteran in the same conversation squashed the small rumours that he would be racing in the IndyCar event at Phoenix. He, just like majority of the NASCAR fandom is looking forward to enjoying the IndyCar race as just a fan.
