Hendrick Motorsports’ driver Kyle Larson and Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin has been having a back and forth on the “rivalry” between them. They are close friends of the track, but when they fight during the races often, they seem like bitter rivals. The duo has been having run-ins more frequent from 2023 season, but aren’t sure if they have supposed rivalry.

Denny Hamlin was the one to start the debates about the rivalry when he said they are not rivals via his podcast. Kyle Larson in response didn’t agree with the comment and it made the JGR driver backtrack his statement. The HMS driver again suggested that he is ready to move on from the drama. Now Larson has made another interesting statement on their fights.

He pointed out that till the mid-way to the 2023 season he had that trust in Hamlin that he would give some space and enjoyed the duels they had. But after some questionable incidents he stopped enjoying the fight. Three times Daytona 500 champion, just like Denny Hamlin, and NBC analyst Dale Jarrett asserted that the fight Kyle Larson proves the JGR veteran is really confident in himself at the moment. He reckons the No:11 Toyota driver is using such moments as a motivation to be in the fight for he championship.

The legendary driver does have good point as the fight with the most talented driver on the current grid makes Hamlin better. It enables him to be more productive and it seems it is off best interest for him to continue the rivalry they have.
