Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson had another double duty attempt to forget last Sunday, as he spun out on both the races and for the second year straight failed to finish the 1100 miles. On the 93ed lap of the race at Indy, Larson lost balance of his career during restart, and it crashes, incurred significant damages, and ended his day in the Arrow McLaren.

Ater the disappointing incident, Kyle Larson shared his feelings with Fox Sports before catching the flight to Charlotte for the Coca Cola 600. He assessed the incident and revealed that he got tight behind Takuma [Sato on the restart and got lose, which eventually resulted in the spin. The incident was waiting to happen, considering Larson’s restart was crazy from the start.

Was a bit crazy on the start and yeah, I got tight behind Takuma [Sato]. I was really close to him, and I got maybe shaded left to him — I haven’t seen a replay. Got loose and kind of got all over the place. So, I spun.

Kyle Larson told FOX Sports.

Taking blame for the incident, he admitted that he was too eager at the moment of the crash and that caused the crash. He distraught and disappointed that his teams hard work didn’t payoff as expected. His plan after that was to quickly get back to Charlotte and produce a solid run as redemption, unfortunately lady luck yet again refuses stay with him.

Just hate that I got a little too eager there on the restart and caused that crash. Hate it for everybody that also got caught up in it. Just bummed out. Try to get over this quickly and get onto Charlotte and forget about it.

Kyle Larson added.

Kyle Larson spun out at Coke 600 as well

After starting the race at P2, Kyle Larson slowly moved his way up the track was on the lead early. A testament to how string he is as a driver and the how fast the Hendrick Motorsports Next-Gen cars were on the day.

But as the race got to lap 43, he got lose and the No:5 Chevy spun, made contact with the wall and it caused some damage to the car. He found himself in a pickle yet again and had to navigate his way back to the top yet again.

Soon after the incident, he apologized to his team on the team radio. But his crew chief Cliff Daniels had the perfect response that both made him feel better and inspired. He told Larson that there are almost 90% of the race left to run and no one in his garage is worried about the incident.

Kyle Larson: I’m sorry

Cliff Daniels: Nothing to be sorry about, man. We are on Lap 43 of 400. I promise you, none of us are worried right now.

But the veteran failed to produce a solid run, as he ended the race at P37 after getting caught up in another wreck late in the race, as the worst performing HMS driver of the day. Going into the next weeks race at Nashville, the star driver will be determined to get back to winning ways and end any doubts in the racing community about his form, after the recent disappointment.
