The 2025 NASCAR Cup season was historic for Kyle Larson, as he secured his second championship in the premier stock car racing division and the maiden title of the Next-Gen era for Hendrick Motorsports as well as Chevy. He scored three wins, 15 top 5s and with an average finish of P13 to end the season as the best racer.

With two titles to his name and being in the last ten years of his career, Kyle Larson is slowly exploring his bucket list of races. He made Indy 500-Coke 600 double attempt in the last two years, which unfortunately ended in disappointment. Despite this, he is looking for another special appearance, the Daytona Rolex 24 Hours race.

He has already won the premier IMSA event in 2015, while he was racing for Chip Ganassi Racing. His co-drivers for the were IndyCar legends Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, and NASCAR’s Jamie McMurray. In his latest appearance on the Dinner with Racers podcast asserted that it might the right time for him to make a return.

I think at this stage in my career, yeah, I’d do it again. I had fun those three years I did it. I didn’t want to keep doing it every year.

Kyle Larson said via Dinner with Racers podcast (Via motorsport.com).

One of the primary reasons he wants to make take a shot at winning the race was to make sure his kids get to experience him winning the championship. When he won the race in 2015, his son Owen Larson was just a newborn and his daughter weren’t even born yet. The only condition he has for the return is to have the best car to ensure he got a solid shot at victory.

To have my kids be a part of it would be cool…Yeah, that, too. So yeah, I would probably do it again…I want to be in the best car…I definitely want to do it again in the future.

Kyle Larson is super busy in the NASCAR offseason

The champion driver hasn’t had enough time to take a break after the championship win, as he admitted in the podcast that the offseasons are getting busier for him every year. This has to do with him racing in Australia, Chilli Bowl and West Coast Midget races, with his High Limit Racing series as well as other dirt/sprint racing events,

The offseasons have only gotten busier. There’s more races and stuff. I go to Australia now, Chili Bowl, and West Coast Midget races. It’s just a lot and I, kind of, want time off.

A return won’t be easy for Larosn, as it been years since he has been behind the wheels of a Sportscar on the track. Hence, he will have to do some extra work to get back to race winning form. He is one of the handful of racers in the garage that is capable of pulling if such a move.

But it’s been so long since I ran it that you almost get to the point where you forget a little bit about it, right? And I just remember having a blast doing that race, so I just want to go there and relive it.

The veteran racer will be one of the drivers to beat, if he gets the right car and solid co-drivers for the event. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the star driver in the coming years in NASCAR and non-NASCAR events.
