Marcos Ambrose‘s NASCAR legacy comes full circle years after his exit from the sport back in 2014. Ambrose emerged as one of the more impressive drivers on the grid following his transition from an Australian V8 Supercars stint. The Aussie achieved a couple of race wins piloting the No. 9 Ford Fusion back then.
Now, Marcos Ambrose‘s daughter, whom he adored a lot in his NASCAR career, is set to take his father’s role, albeit under different circumstances. Tabitha Ambrose will pilot the No. 9 Ford Fusion during a test session on February 4. Subsequently, she will also drive the same challenger at the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival (Feb 28–Mar 1).
Currently, Tabitha Ambrose is participating in the Formula Ford category in Australia. So far, she has picked up one win and a couple of podium finishes to her name in the category. Apart from this, other racing achievements for her include a class victory at the 2025 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour in the Class B1 High Performance Forced Induction category. Despite being just 19 years of age, she is already looking forward to adding on to his father’s racing legacy and building her own name in the industry.
If Tabitha Ambrose catches the attention of some notable figures in the NASCAR industry following her test in February, she could land a seat in the sport in the coming seasons. Female participation is increasing in NASCAR, as Hailie Deegan and Toni Breidinger receive a coveted opportunity to race in the pinnacle of stock racing. Apart from this, Ambrose Jr. can also move up to the Australian Supercars format and then join NASCAR, just like his father or Shane van Gisbergen in the previous year.

Ms. Ambrose did exactly that and gained some notable achievements in motorsport. The 49-year-old was delighted to support her racing career and help her in any way possible.
Racing’s just so great for kids, It teaches them a lot of stuff about life, how to be a good loser, victories, working hard, putting in effort, and taking a bit of risk as well. Racing has just been great to me in my life and now Tabitha has really taken to it. We support her and what she’s doing, but she’s going to have to make it on her own. And if she wants to go down a path of racing cars, she’s going to have to find a way. We’re certainly happy for her to be going down that road and we support where we can.
Marcos Ambrose told NASCAR.
