The 2024 NASCAR Cup season will mark an end of an era, as 2017 champion Martin Truex Jr. will retire end of this season. He announced the decision ahead of the Iowa race weekend after teasing it for over tow years. The TRD veteran driver is looking to slow his life and enjoy his time outside the track more.

Joe Gibbs Racing has announced Chase Briscoe as the replacement for the No:19 team and he will have a huge shoe to fill in the 2025 season and beyond. Though he is retiring from full-time racing, Martin Truex Jr. has promised to race in selected events. He has revealed that One Such event will be the 2025 Daytona 500

It’s almost a guarantee that I feel like right now that I’ll probably run the Daytona 500, which not a done deal yet but I feel like it shouldn’t be too hard to finish that up.
Martin Truex Jr. said via Dale Jr. Download.

He will be looking forward to getting the 500-mile race win that has eluded him in his entire career. It won’t be hard for the star driver to secure a seat, as his teammate Denny Hamlin has already offered him a 23XI Racing Toyota which he just has to ask. Any other team would also love to give the veteran the opportunity as well.

There wasn’t like a day I woke up and I was like, ‘Alright, I’m done, and these are the ten reasons.’ I didn’t make a list and checkoff pros and cons or anything. I just waited until I felt like it was the right time, and yeah, here we are.
Martin Truex Jr. said.

The veteran driver wants to experience something new with his life and getting time of the track is the first thing to do before achieving it. Fans would be looking forward for the selected race appearances from Martin after retirement and it would be interesting to see who he would partner with for such outings.
