After the race in Las Vegas, playoff drivers were left with a single less spot to contend for in the final four as Joey Logano claimed a magnificent victory there. On the other hand, Tyler Reddick looked vulnerable and had to deliver a similarly impressive race in Miami. Moreover, the No.45 driver exceeded expectations and claimed victory at Homestead-Miami, making the 23XI garage go into a rave, as team co-owner, Michael Jordan was witnessed crossing the barriers to celebrate with his driver.
Tyler Reddick had lined up his Toyota on the pole after a close qualifying session. The 28-year-old stayed calm and won Stage 1 with ease. However, the subsequent stage was difficult as he plummeted through the field. Despite this, he showcased the reason why he became the Regular Season champion earlier this year and made stellar moves to get back to retake the lead from his rivals, earning a confirmed playoff berth for the Championship Four.
The massive achievement of Reddick was enjoyed throughout the 23XI Racing garage. This led Michael Jordan to jump past the pit barriers and congratulate the young racer for his impressive feat.
With Reddick’s win at Miami, two spots in the final four have already been reserved. Thus, leaving the next race in Martinsville to decide who would be the two lucky ones that would make it to Phoenix while staying in contention for the elusive Cup Series title.
Tyler Reddick has the support of his family behind him for the Cup Series title
On the other hand, the NBA Hall of Famer was not the only one ecstatic with Reddick’s win. A huge array of support pooled over from fans across the states as the 28-year-old is a liked character within the NASCAR sphere.
Regardless of this, his biggest supporter is his dad, who claimed that he was proud of his son’s results and would back him up for the title in Phoenix amidst the intense fight that might ensue on.
On the contrary, Denny Hamlin did not appear to be happy with Reddick’s win, despite the latter being a driver for his team. This was possibly because the JGR driver is also a contender for the title, but is currently in the playoff bubble, which leaves him with a single chance around Martinsville to get a shot at the Cup Series title in Phoenix.
