Natalie Decker is one of the most female athletes in motorsport. The 27-year-old married his long-time partner, Derek Lemke, last year on New Year’s Eve, and the couple is expecting a new member to be added to their family soon. However, some interpreted this announcement as a retirement one, leading to the Xfinity driver bashing such rumors.
Nattalie Decker announced her pregnancy with her partner Derek Lemke. Subsequently, this led to a social media user to assert that motherhood would mean the end of her racing career which the 27-year-old racer denied.
Decker clarified that her pregnancy does not correlate to her racing career’s end. Moreover, she claimed that she would be back in her racing seat next year after their child’s birth while defying all odds.
I don’t owe anybody an answer for anything, but I want to make one thing clear once a race car driver always a race car driver. I’ll be back in the car in 2025..

The Xfinity series driver has participated in a total of 11 races in a span of four years. Realizing the support she has from her husband, who is also a stock-car racing driver, she revealed that she dreams of battling Lemke on track. Moreover, she implied that such an opportunity might only be presented in front of them either in the Craftsman or Xfinity series. Though the 30-year-old is yet to make his debut in the Xfinity series.
That’s literally our goal and dream. We talk about that daily. So here’s the thing: Derek has never beaten me. We talk about that all the time. We’ve only raced against each other a few times, but we’re going to battle it out in either a [NASCAR Craftsman] Truck race or an Xfinity race somewhere soon. We have to make it happen, and then we can then determine who is better after that race.Natalie Decker said in an interview with Frontstretch
On the contrary, despite such allegations of her retiring, Dereck is firm on his return to the field in 2025. Thus, she would be back with higher motivation than earlier to prove her critics wrong.
