Carson Hocevar, who races for Niece Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, has been drafted to drive for Legacy Motor Club in the Cup Series at Darlington on the fourth of September. He is in fourth place in the Truck Series standings and drives the #42 Chevrolet Silverado.

Hocevar is not exactly new to the Cup Series, as he started in the series once this year in June for Spire Motorsports in St. Louis. Hocevar hailed the opportunity as perfect for getting more time in the Cup Series as he rejoiced at the prospect of being teammates with Erik Jones. Hocevar will drive the #42 Sunseeker Resort Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

“This is a great opportunity to get some seat time in the Cup Series and help out the team at LEGACY M.C. I’m looking forward to working with Luke (Lambert) and the No. 42 team, and if anyone knows how to get around Darlington, Erik Jones does, so it will be great to have him as a teammate,” said Hocevar in a statement.

Located in Wisconsin State Fair Park, the Milwaukee Mile hosted a NASCAR race for the first time in 14 years. The track hosted the Truck Series and the Arca Menards Series drivers last weekend.

Niece Motorsport’s Carson Hocevar had a satisfying race as he finished second behind Grant Enfinger. He claimed that he had a good time on the track, even though he believed that he did not produce the greatest result.

“I had fun, I enjoyed the track… I could move around. I wasn’t just sitting there dead in the water. Like I could match lap time, I couldn’t go faster… As a driver that’s what you could ask for, I don’t know if it produced the greatest race. I don’t know the history of it… I enjoyed driving it,” said Hocevar.
