Joe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher Bell marked his 150th NASCAR race start during the NASCAR Cup Series Race at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). The driver paired this milestone with a P2 in the race which made it even better. Following the race, Bell was congratulated by NASCAR for his achievement via their official X handle.

NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. didn’t like this move and via his podcast Dale Jr. Download claimed that NASCAR should commemorate when drivers make over 400 starts. In the most recent episode of the podcast the former NASCAR driver and his wife Amy Earnhardt had a fascinating conversation about the same.

Amy wasn’t pleased with the opinion shared by her husband. She pointed out how it was just a congratulatory X post about Christopher Bell informing fans about the recent achievement, citing how they didn’t throw the Toyota driver a parade. Dale Jr. agreed to it as well nodding his head and was mesmerized by his wife’s opinions on the topic.

I think it’s just neat to know how long it takes to get to that number, and like for a fan your favorite driver, you know they’re getting a landmark number where you get to talk about it. It’s just fun, it’s not like they are throwing him a parade. They’re just saying hey- how many starts. This is pretty nice.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. hails streaming platforms for bringing attention to the grassroots of NASCAR

Ever since the last 5-6 years streaming services have taken over the sports world. These also include NASCAR, and its lower levels are no exception. Recently while speaking to late model racing veteran Bubba Pollard, Dale Jr. spoke about how grateful he is to streaming services for bringing attention to all categories of NASCAR, and motorsports in America.

Both Pollard and Junior spoke about how much the improved streaming technology has made following the lower levels of Motorsports racing. Moreover Junior also commended how they’ve helped bring his CARS Tour to the masses.

Streaming has come on in the past 5 years. I remember being able to log in to Flo and watch a Late Model race at Langley going “damn this is awesome,” and it was so sh***y, one camera, all you could hear was the PA and I was fine. It was perfect. I was like…otherwise I’d have to drive 6 hours to go there and see this.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.

The pair also commended how the two biggest Motorsports streaming services in America, FloRacing and Racing America have overall improved the perception of the sport, and the ease at which it can be accessed. They are expecting more investment into the coverage that would give them more exposure.
