24-year-old Anthony Alfredo has taken another positive step towards redemption as he is set to compete part-time in the Cup series next season. He will drive No:62 of Beard Motorsports for at least four races, after signing the deal. Alfredo had raced in two events last season for Live Fast Motorsports, earning a best-finish of P33.
For Alfredo, it’s another chance for him to slowly rise to the ranks and return to the Cup series. He lost his Cup seat in 2021 after a disappointing rookie season with Front Row Motorsports. Alfredo’s best finish from 36 races in his rookie Cup year was a P10 at Talladega. He ended 27 races with a finish of P25 or worse.
Alfredo is thankful for the opportunity that has come his way alongside the full-time Xfinity deal with Our Motorsports. He finds it a blessing to have the opportunity to race his childhood heroes. The Chevy driver is more excited for his debut race for the team, Daytona 500 because Beard has always been competitive in Superspeedways.
I’m so thankful for this opportunity. Every driver who runs stock cars wants to race in the Cup Series and the Daytona 500. I’ve been blessed to race at this level against drivers that are childhood heroes of mine. This opportunity with the Beard family is very exciting. They have always fielded great cars in these superspeedway races, so I’m thrilled to get behind the wheel of their No. 62 Chevrolet.Alfredo said, as reported by Forbs.
Beard Motorsports’ boss is excited about yet another year in the top-flight
Beard Motorsports is the last Cup team in the garage that embodies most things there is about the roots of NASCAR. A small family-owned single-car operation that has been working hard to race in each event with crew members who are immensely proud of the small efforts that earn them big success.
2024 will mark the eighth season at the top division for the team and Amie Beard, executive vice president of Beard Motorsports, has a surreal feeling about it. She is happy as they are able to continue the passion project that stemmed from her dad’s love for racing.
The 2024 season marks our eighth year competing in the NASCAR Cup Series. It’s surreal to even be referencing year number eight. This race team is a passion project for all of us. My dad loved the sport and it’s a passion that we now share as a family. It’s what drives this team.
