The NASCAR Xfinity series crowd at Talladega was in for a scary race day as the race witnessed two high-profile crashes. While wrecks are nothing new in the Alabama Superspeedway, the No:2 Chevy Camaro’s wreck wasn’t for the faint-hearted. The Our Motorsports car flipped six times after it landed upside down sideways.

The multicar incident started with the No:66 car losing control and hitting the inside walls. The chaos during the action saw Blaine Perkinss car getting lost, and it was on its way to the outside wall. The No:5 Car, on the outermost lane, then slammed into the car, sending it into the air. It landed upside down and started a barrel roll. The body parts of the car were flying everywhere before it got into a resting position after the 6 flips.

Fortunately, the driver was unharmed, thanks to the safety features in 21st-century cars, and could walk away from the crash when the safety crew came for his rescue. He was later transferred to the hospital for further evaluation by NASCAR and released once his health condition was analyzed.

We will continue to provide updates as they are available,”.

Blaine Perkins is going through a tough patch in his Motorsports career after the impressive P2 finish in the ARCA Series West championship in 2020. He drove part-time in the Xfinity series with back-markers since he has not had a solid race. His best finish in the series is a Martinsville P10 from 22 seasons.

After a subpar full-time stint last season in the Truck series, he is driving part-time with Our Motorsport and SS Green Light Racing. His best finish this season is the P13 in Martinsville the week before. He will be hoping that the crash is wont to hinder his chase of the ultimate NASCAR dream, the Cup series.
