Brad Keselowski, who finished P3 was one of the only five drivers to end the race on lead lap. He claimed post-race that how he is now confident he can win the next race at Bristol which will be held during fall like Denny Hamlin did on Sunday.
We ran really solid and came away with a great finish and a ton of points. It’s the kind of weekend where we feel like we can come back here in the fall and win.Brad Keselowski said via Motorsport.com.
After the race, Keselowski looked more confident and seemed to be back to his usual level. The next race at Bristol will definitely be a race that all Keselowski fans will be waiting for as the driver seems more confident than ever of his chances of winning. But right now his focus is on the upcoming race at COTA.
Brad Keselowski’s thoughts on the tire wear that affected the Food City 500
Throughout the race at Bristol, the Food City 500 drivers were constantly plagued by massive tire wear. This led to drivers all around struggling for grip and traction, RFK Racing driver Brad Keselowski was also challenged with this issue.
It was an interesting day. There was a lot of discipline required and it was a fun race, to be honest, because you just had to be so smart behind the wheel. It would bite you in a heartbeat and you had to have a good set-up. I think we had a good set-up and tried to run the smartest race I could.”Brad Keselowski said.
The 2012 NASCAR CUP champion seemed very shocked by the overall tier wear that affected the race. The tire degradation seemed to have a bigger impact on this race than previously and is definitely something Goodyear will have to look into to avoid in the future.
