NASCAR Cup garage will line up at the Circuit of Americas for the first Road Course race of the 2023 season. The race has gathered her attention from all over the globe as it will mark the Cup debut of 2009 F1 Champion Jenson Button and the COTA Cup debut of 2007 F1 Champion Kimi Raikkonen. Fans worldwide are expecting big runs from the ringers, while the full-time drivers are warming up for yet another close race.

While the F1 champions are gearing up for a solid day, 2012 Cup champion Brad Keselowski has warned them about what to expect in the third edition of the COTA race. The RF racing co-owner pointed out that Road course races in NASCAR are s way different circus than the regular NASCAR races. He predicts strong close quarters and aggressive action in every restart and points out that the ex-F1 drivers will be surprised on Sunday.

They’re about to enter the circus, and, as I said, the animals here are ferocious. I’m not gonna say they’re better drivers than ours. Those guys are pretty damn good drivers. They’re meaner drivers, I’ll say that, They will chew you up and spit you out and cry a few crocodile tears,” Keselowski said.

It’s an interesting track, we don’t run on anything quite like it. The turn 1 entry being so wide and drivers being what they are, we’re just animals. This is a track made for animals, and we have a lot of them in our circus here in NASCAR. It’s nice to be in the Austin market, an area with a lot of NASCAR fans. We want to serve them, and we’re glad to be here,” Keselowski added.

Keselowski is among the most celebrated NASCAR drivers of the 21st century. The 35 times cup race winner has produced some of the most entertaining performances since making his full-time Cup debut in 2010. He has won some prestigious races, except a road course and the Daytona 500.

The RFK co-owners best performance in such tracks is top 10s, with his best-ever performances coming in the form of P2 in Watkins Glen multiple times. He has secured 11 top 10 finishes in the Road Course races over the years.

He has a respectful 15 average start and finishes in the road course races. His best finish last season was a P2 finish in Sonoma. For a driver of his caliber, the winless streak in Road Courses is something that has an impact on his NASCAR legacy.
