23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace made a mistake that changed the entire result of Richmond Toyota Owner’s 400 race and helped his boss Denny Hamlin win the race on Sunday. He spun out Kyle Larson in the penultimate lap of the race forcing NASCAR to call a caution. This sent the race to overtime, the first one in over 14 races.

Martin Truex Jr. who was just half a lap from taking white flag lost the event he was convincingly leading. Kyle Larson also lost the opportunity to challenge for the win in the restart due to spin but was fortunate enough remain in the top-5. But Karma struck Bubba Wallace as he finished the race outside the top-10, after racing inside the top-5 majority the event due to a pit-stop mistake.

Got loose. Overcorrected. They ended up better. Karma’s a real thing. Cost us, but I was really content with fifth. Just got loose and overcorrected it into him. Apologize to the No. 5 team. Not intentional, by all means. But karma is quick in this sport, for sure.
Bubba Wallace told Fox Sports.

The TRD driver, despite the disappointing result was pretty positive after the race. He quickly went to Larson and apologized to him and admitted that he didn’t spin him intentionally. The good race he had till the incident seems to have given him some confidence for the upcoming weekend’s race at Martinsville.

Lead the whole race and then some stupid, some dumba** move brings out a caution coming to the white flag and ruins our whole night.
Martin Truex Jr. said.

Kyle Larson on the other hand had no issues with Wallace. He only lost two spots because of the incident, and he was able to get back to his final position on the final lap. The 23XI driver apologizing probably had also made his happy.

I didn’t — I only lost whatever, a spot to Bubba [Wallace], and to [William] Byron there. I was able to keep it going. My pit crew did a really good job, getting us off pit road. Getting us two spots. Restart fourth, and then we gained one more. So I will take a third, after what could’ve been a lot worse there on the front stretch.
Kyle Larson said.

It would be good if Bubba Wallace also apologized to Martin Truex Jr. as it was his mistake that changed the whole race. Considering they still finished good at the end the no:19 driver would move on, but Wallace on the other hand lost some valuable points and should work on his execution to be more productive.
