23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace is one of NASCAR’s most renowned and divisive characters. Over the years, he has accumulated many fans with his racing prowess and being the only African American racer in the premier division. Wallace also has many friends who despise him for many reasons, including the spotlight he gets compared to other drivers who perform at the same level.

Wallace is no stranger to abuse or derogatory comments online, but he usually avoids responding to such reactions. But recently, he responded to one comment from a fan who accused NASCAR of being biased towards Wallace and overlooking others. The TRD driver is set to race in the IMSA event at Daytona, with Toyota and NASCAR reposting this announcement on their socials.

A fan who came across this on social media wasn’t impressed by it as he felt that NASCAR not reposting the announcements of drivers running in the 2024 Chilly Bowl while acknowledging this announcement associated with Wallace shows bias. So, the person called the sanctioning body out.

Notice how NASCAR reposts this, but doesn’t repost anything about the chili bowl [sic], which features 4 current cup drivers. Chase Briscoe, Ricky Stenhouse, JJ Yeley, and Kyle Larson. … It’s [because of Bubba] Wallace.

Wallace wasn’t a fan of this comment, and he reminded the person of NASCAR’s interest in IMSA. He pointed out in his reply that NASCAR owns IMSA, the premier Sportscar racing series in America, commenting, “Who owns IMSA? I’ll wait….” The 23XI driver also shared the viral “too small” GIF featuring  NBA’s Trae Young of the Atlanta Falcons.

Wallace finished the season P10 in the championship and was able to make it into the R-12 of playoffs. It was his maiden Cup playoff entry, and what makes the entry impressive is the fact that Wallace was winless in the season. He was able to make it on his consistent runs, with the highlight being his road course racing consistency towards the end of the regular season.

Going into the 2024 season, the primary objective of Wallace will be to end his winless run and secure a playoff as early as possible. The team has proven they have the capability of fielding cars capable of winning races, and Wallace now has to use this opportunity to produce his best.
