Bubba Wallace is suspended from racing this weekend at the Miami cup race. The 23X1 Racing driver was penalized for wrecking Kyle Larson in Las Vegas. Wallace retaliated against Larson for an aggressive overtake that send him to the wall. He then confronted the latter shoving him multiple times.

Bubba Wallace should have gotten a multiacre penalty for wrecking Larson at 180 mph but got away with it. But his former employer Kyle petty has come forward demanding a severe penalty for him. He drove for Petty GMS Racing, then Richard Petty Motorsports, for four years before signing with 23X1 in 2021. Kyle’s father Richard Petty owns the team.

Kyle Petty said Wallace should have been suspended for the rest of the year. He pointed out that Wallace drives for Denny Hamlin, who is vocal on Next Gen car safety, in the No:45 car, which he got after his teammate Kurt Busch was ruled out due to concussion. Petty added that it is laughable that the same driver intentionally turned someone in the right rear into the outside wall.

He should have been suspended for the rest of the year. Rest of the year…He drives for Denny Hamlin, who has been vocal about safety. His teammate (Kurt Busch), the only reason he’s in the 45 car is his teammate’s career was all but ended because of an accident in this car that the drivers have vocalized that it needs to be safer. He turns a guy in the right rear into the outside wall intentionally. Steering brake? That’s laughable.

Kyle Petty demands a severe penalty for Bubba Wallace

Kyle Petty pointed out that he should also be suspended for walking across the track. Petty went on to list the misdemeanors by Wallace. He pointed out that Wallace has physically confronted a driver, and refused to adhere to the safety team’s requests. Etc. Petty said Wallace should be suspended for the remainder of the year.

“Physically confronts a driver, shoves him. That’s a physical confrontation. If I do that on the sidewalk, I’m in handcuffs somewhere. So, he physically confronts this driver, shoves an official, doesn’t get in an ambulance, walks back to the pits, and then … tells a fib. … The lesson should be the rest of the year, just the rest of the year. That’s just me,” Kyle Petty added.

Kyle Petty said that the wreck was an unprofessional move from Bubba and said Larson was very professional during the confrontation. What are your thoughts on Kyle Petty’s words?
