Ty Gibbs found himself in hot water after the young prodigy who drives for the No:18 Joe Gibbs Racing team, owned by his grandfather, in the NASCAR Xfinity series confronted his rival post-race, for an on-track incident, which quickly turned into a physical altercation. The incident happened two weeks before at Martinsville where Ty Gibbs was forced out of a win by Sam Mayer, who shoved him to the sidewall.

Ty Gibbs has made a name for himself with his two wins this season and having a dedicated and family-owned team with a fast car is a huge advantage for him to have. But the young Gibbs is not just making a name for his speed his on-track antiques and aggression also make him one of the most talked-about drivers.

Coy Gibbs, son of legendary NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs, came to his son Ty Gibbs’s defense in the press conference at Bristol following JGR No:18 car’s first win of 2022 saying “Look, that’s my son. So, I have his back, 24×7, 365 days a year. Our conversations are private. We’re a pretty tough family. We raise our children tough. I’m proud of him as a human, and I think he’s a talented driver,”.

Though nepotism is not uncommon in NASCAR considering the financial expenses that are to be beard to compete at high levels in NASCAR, that wasn’t the only reason for Ty Gibbs finding himself on the wrong side with the fans. His on-track aggression which some fans deem as showing off his arrogance and privilege put him away from the good books of man. The defense put forward by Coy Gibbs does make the case worst online as fans were quick to call out the driver on Twitter.
