NASCAR Hall Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. surprised the entire NASCAR community when he announced that he would not return to NBC as a race analyst in 2024. This stirred up a lot of rumors around his exit as no one in the racing community expected such a move from him.

Recently a rumor started spreading first in Reddit and later in X, that Junior’s exit was messy. The rumor claimed that the two-time Xfinity Series Champion was against calling races from NBC studios in Charlotte instead of live-from-tracks. Another rumor was that he got scolded by the producers.

The allegations were so serious, that Junior had to quickly step in and put an end to it. He pointed out that both claims made were false and his decision to leave NBC had nothing to do with it. He asserted that he got nothing but respect for the NBC team.

This is all untrue. NBC is not considering a remote booth and I was never scolded for anything. NBC was amazing and everyone there taught me a ton. I promise that’s the truth. Nothing but respect and love for everyone there that I came in contact with.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is set to join Amazon and Warner Bros Discovery

It was recently revealed that Dale Jr. has reportedly signed a deal with streaming giants Amazon and Warner Bros for the 2025 season and beyond. He will work as the broadcaster for both platforms’ 10 race ( five races each) coverage that they have signed to steam for the next seven years.

It would be interesting to see what he would do in the new role as he is more likely going to be the lead commentator on the team and how two different platforms will build around him. It’s a great and rewarding challenge for Junior to tackle.

The deal will only kick start in the 2025 season and in 2024 he is free to explore opportunities. But it might not happen as many reports suggest that he wants to take a year break after the six-year term at NBC.
