Justin Allgaier of Junior Motorsports had yet another disappointing race week, as he wrecked himself while he was leading the race with just five laps left in the race. His left rear tire went flat and his No:7 Camry slammed onto the outside wall. Joe Gibbs Racing’s Chandler Smith used the opportunity and helped Toyota to secure their second consecutive win in the series.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.‘s driver was dejected after the race and shared his thoughts with the media. He hates the result for the team as his team, who has worked hard to give him the most dominant car of the day. He also clarified what happened that caused the incident and pin-pointed him running over the dogleg as the reason for the incident.

We just aren't doing the burnout in victory lane... just going through the dogleg (frontstretch), I felt it (tire) come apart, like I ran something over, and at that point you're just a passenger. I just hate it that we tore up a race car, I hate that we didn't go to Victory Lane. I hate it for all the guys and gals at JR Motorsports.Allgaier told Fox Sports.
Allgaier was awarded a P29 finish due to the incident as he was DNFed. His teammate Sam Mayor also suffered a similar fate, as an early race incident took him out. But the other two JRM drivers secured top-10 finishes. Brandon Jones secured a P7 finish while Sammy Smith secured a P9 finish.
Race winner Chandler Smith sympathizes with Justin Allgaier
Smith, who secured his second-ever win in the series after the misfortune of the JRM driver, admitted that he hate to see what happened to Justin Allgaier since he was close to scoring the victory. He is also delighted to secure his maiden win for JGR and build on the momentum for the upcoming races.
We just lacked a little bit on the 7 (Allgaier). I hate that happened to him—he had that in the bag. I’m so proud of everybody back at Joe Gibbs Racing. It’s good finally to get this first win off our back for these guys. So let’s go keep racking ‘em up.Smith said.
There is still a long season ahead of Allgaier to secure the title that has been elusive in the last two years he raced for JRM. He has been in the final four race in 2022 and 2023. Now his hope will be to secure a race win early and prove his worth.
