Former NASCAR driver, Danica Patrick has found herself under the critical lens for her participation in a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event. The renowned racecar driver, known for being the most successful woman in American racing, shared snapshots from the TPUSA event with former president, Donald Trump‘s quotes on Instagram, showcasing a newfound alignment with conservative values and triggering a massive online backlash for her stance.
A couple of days ago, Patrick attended the TPUSA event with her sister and posted a selfie of the Patrick sisters together at the event.

This post soon went viral and the online backlash following it was swift and intense, with Patrick’s followers expressing disappointment and disbelief at her visible support for conservative ideals. The inclusion of ‘MAGA’ caps associated with the Trump era in her posts landed her in hot waters.
In a report addressing the incident, Fox Sports mentioned the Instagram comments that the post has garnered.

Danica Patrick clarifies her political position in response to the online criticism
The America Fest by Turning Point USA caters to a youthful conservative demographic. Patrick’s Instagram posts from the event, with her sister, coupled with an ad for “Woke Tears Water,” and Trump-supporting hats, ignited fan backlash. Instead of directly addressing the online uproar, Patrick tactfully refocused her Instagram on family, Christmas, and a video featuring Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
Patrick took to Instagram stories to offer a nuanced explanation of her political stance. She positioned herself between Republican and independent ideologies, emphasizing the qualities she values in a leader—advocating for a blend of business acumen and integrity.

She also expressed concerns about widespread propaganda in mainstream media and conveyed affection for the country, drawing on her experiences living elsewhere. Patrick also added that she does not believe everything anyone says, thus claiming herself to be someone who never follows the crowd into idolizing someone or some political party.
