Daniel Hemric's No:11 car upside dwon during talladega Xfinity race
The NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega witnessed 15 DNFs as the drivers couldn’t survive the chaos of the superspeedway. Most of them were the victim of the big one involving race leader Daniel Hemric with just six laps left. He was turned by Sheldon Creed when Hemric went to bloke the Richard Childress Racing Chevy’s progression.
Hemric got flipped as he pierced the field following the spin and collected a few cars in the process. He then got airborne and flipped a few times before landing on the ground upside down. The NASCAR safety crew quickly checked on the driver while the entire garage was on its toes to see if the driver was safe. As the smoke surrounding the car cleared, it was confirmed that the driver was fine and had no major issues.
The No:11 driver was transferred to the infield care center before being released soon after. The race was halted as a Red Flag caution was put out. Creed, who invoked the crash, went on to finish the race behind Jeb Burton of No. 8 Jordan Pearson Racing. Hemric was awarded a P34 finish alongside another driver who failed to finish the race.
The crash hasn’t caused any animosity among the drivers. Hemric pointed out, “I just got too far out, it looks it. I was for sure late on the block there, I should’ve committed…Super big thanks to NASCAR, all the safety crew. That’s the first time I’ve ever been over, I think, aside from go-kart racing,”.

Here is how fans reacted to the Daniel Hemric crash
Fans quickly reacted to the terrifying crash that could have turned ugly. Some thanked the god for keeping the driver safe and criticized NASCAR over close-pack racing. They pointed out that the sanctioning body has to remove the restrictor plate and allow the field to spread out so that pack racing can be avoided.
