Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin admits he is sometimes jealous of 23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick over his sponsorship deal with Michael Jordan. 23XI is the Cup team co-owned by Hamlin and the NBA legend. They signed Reddick to replace Kurt Busch at the start of this season, and he has repaid them with two impressive wins.

Jordan’s Toyota team has one of the best sponsorship deals in the Cup garage. The No:23 Camary driver Bubba Wallace is one of the most marketable stars in the sport for many reasons. Reddick’s No:45 team also gets some solid partners, and his most renowned partner is MJ’s Jordan brand. Hamlin has admitted that he is sometimes jealous of the paint schemes and other stuff he gets while driving the No:45 car.

I have not, no. It was a big weekend for the #45 car, J on the car … I was being a fanboy in the middle of practice. Taking pictures of Tyler Reddick’s suit. Make sure I get that suit after this weekend. Really cool the crossover stuff they’re doing,” Hamlin told Frontstretch when asked about Jordan attending the race.

I’m jealous at times of the paint schemes, jealous of the M.J. stuff that Tyler gets to run. We’re still partners. Michael views us as winning, just like he does our race team. He says every weekend he has three chances to win, so this one he won,” Hamlin added.

Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan have achieved all goals set for 23XI Racing in 2023

Coming to the season, the owners had two major goals set for the Cup series. One was to continue their win streak and become contenders in every race, and the second goal was to get both of their drivers to the playoff round of 12.

They successfully accomplished the first goal by winning two races so far this season. Both came from their driver, Tyler Reddick; the first triumph came at COTA, and the second came at Kansas. The No:45 car has won three of the last four races at the track with three drivers behind the wheel.

While Reddick made it to the playoff with his COTA win, Wallace got in based on points. He got into R-16 following a resilient performance in the final races of the regular season, and the same clutch form helped him get into the progress round of the playoff.
