“I have to call Kyle out,” Denny Hamlin enraged with Kyle Larson’s antics at the Bristol Dirt race
Denny Hamlin has shared his opinion on Kyle Larson's tussle with Ryan Preece in Bristol.
Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson
Denny Hamlin, via his podcast, has called out Kyle Larson for his aggressive driving at the Bristol Dirt race. At the mega event, Larson had quite a few close tussles with Ryan Preece, which led to a crash taking place between the two drivers that sent both drivers into the fence. While people are divided on their tussle, Hamlin ardently feels, Larson is the one to blame for the whole saga.
Denny Hamlin, while stressing the incident in detail, said, “I watched it, and it looks like Kyle Larson. This is what he does. Kyle’s one of my best friends but at this point, I have to call Kyle out a little bit. Kyle is one of those drivers that puts you in a spot where you have to lift. Raise your hands if this sounds familiar, he’s done it to me, contesting my positions. So he’ll just run me off into the grass.”
“He’ll just say, alright, you either lift or you are going through the grass over there. And I think he wanted to get clear of Preece so he just gasses it up and said, well, I’m coming up and you can lift or go into the fence. Preece didn’t lift and got drove into the fence. So of course, Preece is pissed. Later on in the race, he crowned Larson.”
According to the 23XI Racing co-owner, Kyle Larson pushes the other drivers on the edge by not lifting his foot off the gas paddle when most drivers are expected to do. He feels that this is what happened, during his tussle with Ryan Preece at the Bristol Dirt race. Moreover, he has even admitted that Larson has done it to him on a few occasions. Kyle Larson has always been seen as a semi-aggressive driver, and what Hamlin has said about him, only adds further to his reputation.
Kyle Larson had close calls with Ryan Preece on multiple occasions in Bristol
While Kyle Larson and Ryan Preece’s outing at the Bristol Dirt Rcae was brought to an abrupt halt when the two went into the fence, the signs of an ugly ending were starting to appear from the very beginning of the race. During stage 1, Preece tried to make a move on Larson, but the latter blocked it from happening.
Moreover, when the race was under caution, Ryan Preece took his car close to Kyle Larson and appeared to be flickering a finger at him. Preece was extremely frustrated with the antics of his rival at the event, and their ultra-aggressive tussle finally came to an end when two drivers went into the wall in dramatic fashion.
Considering everything that happened between Preece and Larson at the Bristol Dirt race, and what Denny Hamlin said about it after, do you think that Larson needs to have a look at his race style, does he need to tone down his aggressive driving style a bit? Moreover, do the race officials also need to keep a tight leash on drivers to percent any unnecessary incidents from happening?
