Marco Andretti had a massive massive incident during the NASCAR Truck Series race at COTA. The Roper Racing lost his real axle during the race and was luckily not penalized due to the unusual circumstances by which he lost both of his wheels.

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin recently spoke about on his podcast Action Detrimental how he was shocked and couldn’t believe what happened to Marco Andretti. The driver spoke about how the entire truck got dismantled from the rear, leading to the incident.

You won’t (expletive) believe this. Look at this, the whole back of his truck fell out … Somebody broke it down where like, it looks like a weld came loose somewhere in the back. It could be from wheel hopping. It could be from hitting curbs too hard or anything like that. So it’s tough to say and tough to speculate, but holy cow. We’ve never seen that before.
Denny Hamlin said.

The number 11 also added how NASCAR made the right decision for not penalizing Marco as the entire incident was shocking and dangerous. Marco Andretti was luckily okay after the incident, but Roper Racing will definitely want to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

The incident may have happened due to the speed at which Andretti was hitting the curbs at the bumpy COTA track. Roper Racing will be glad that the driver is okay, and will want to make sure that their car is more reliable in the future.

It seems like the season just keeps getting worse for Marco Andretti as this DNF led to another disappointing race weekend. The driver seems to be very unlucky at the moment and will want to make sure that he bounces back stronger at the upcoming races.
