Michael Jordan is probably one of the most well-known NASCAR team owners. His co-ownership with Denny Hamlin of 23XI Racing saw both of the team’s drivers to qualify for the Playoffs this year. The team has achieved great success, considering they are just three years old. Recently, Hamlin talked about Jordan’s role in the team as he hails from a different sport.
Hamlin said that Jordan has had a big positive impact on the team’s mindset. He said that Jordan doesn’t hold back on his opinions and is very open to talking about the team’s weak spots. Jordan has often been seen on the track, talking to his drivers and getting involved. Hamlin also spoke on this point, saying that he is getting involved in more and more team meetings.
“I think he’s brought some very good intel into our meetings on mindset, on how do we get better individually as a team. He’s, at times, heard things in meetings where he’s like, ‘I don’t like that. We need to be more self-reflective on what we need to do better.’ That goes such a long way with our team,” Hamlin told NBC Sports.

Denny Hamlin claims Tyler Reddick’s inexperience in the R-8 will not be a disadvantage for him
23XI Racing had seen both drivers qualify for the Playoffs this year. Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick were going at it aggressively, trying to leave a mark in the Playoffs. However, Wallace’s debut in the Playoffs ended at Charlotte while Reddick qualified for the R-8. Recently, 23XI’s co-owner backed Reddick on his inexperience.
Reddick has qualified for the Playoffs in 2021 and 2022. However, he has never made it past the R-16. With concerns rising about whether his inexperience will become a negative factor in his championship chase, Hamlin claimed it won’t be the case. He said that his qualifying for the R-8 shows that he is one of the best drivers currently. Hamlin contended that while having some experience does help, its absence won’t negatively affect his run.
“When you get down to the final eight and you got half the field, it’s pretty good. So certainly I think that the way they do things has been really successful. I don’t know about disadvantage. Experience does matter certainly. When you haven’t been in this position before, certainly nerves can be a factor but there’s no disadvantage,” said Hamlin.
