NASCAR has announced the second driver to join Tony Stewart and the 1998 list of 50 greatest drivers. Former Hendrick Motorsports and Richard Petty Motorsports driver Kasey Kahne is NASCAR’s second pick for the list. The Enumclaw, Washington, is a proven winner in NASCAR and has won races in all three national series.
Kahne made his NASCAR debut in Robert Yates Racing in 2002 in the Xfinity Series. He scored his first win with Akins Motorsports in 2003 in the second-tier series. The Kasey Kahne Racing owner is renowned for his Cup rookie season, which can be considered one of the geyser debuts ever. He made his Cup debut with Evernham Motorsports in 2004 and scored 5 P2 finishes and 13 Top 5s. He couldn’t score a win in the Cup but entered the victory lane twice in the Truck Series.
He has won races with Chevy, Toyota, and Dodge and five of the six teams he raced for in the Cup series. Kahne has 18 Cup race victories, with the best season tally of 6 race wins coming in 2006. He secured 176 top 10s alongside the wins from 529 races he started in a 15-year-long career. His Xfinity Series tally is nearly impressive as well. He has 8 wins and 87 top 10s from 215 starts. Kahne has a near-perfect record in the Truck series. He has won 5 out of 6 races he started.
The 2004 season Rookie of the Year achieved some impressive accolades. He was the 2000 USAC National Midget Series champion and has won the Coca-Cola 600 thrice. Kahne was the All-Star Race XXIV winner and won the 2017 Brickyard 400. He is yet to be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

NASCAR fans have mixed reactions to the driver’s induction to the list. There were a lot of fans who came in to congratulate him on his achievements which is not surprising considering the fact that he was one of the most famous drivers in his prime.
There were a lot of fans who believed Kahne didn’t deserve the entry pointing at his trophy cabinet that just has 18 wins and no championships.
Jokes said, Kasey Kahne is one of the most deserving drivers of the honor. Throughout his career he was a consistent performer and has won many titles on and off NASCAR that can’t be easily overlooked.
