The NBA franchise Detroit Pistons will sponsor Hendrick Motorsports driver Alex Bowman for the upcoming Cup race at Michigan International Speedway. HMS has announced one of the best paint schemes for collaboration. NASCAR and NBA’s connection has deepened since basketball legend Michael Jordan became co-owner of Cup team 23XI Racing.
The No:48 car will feature Detroit Pistons’ logo and some tributes alongside Alex Bowman’s primary sponsor Ally. A plain white background with many intricate designs is the highlight of the Chevy Camaro ZL1 that will hit the track next Sunday. It features the Pistons logo with the Detroit skyline as background. It also has red and blue stripes down the sides and two racing stripes down the middle.
Bowman’s 2023 seaosn so far has been similar to how the last season went for the Northern Central Conference team. The Pistons failed to produce any major performance in the 22-23 NBA season and could not qualify for the playoffs after losing 65 games from the 82 played, their worst record in the last five years.
The Driver who hasn’t won a race for nearly one and a half years might miss out on the 2023 playoffs if he remains winless. Missing three races amidst an impressive streak of the run due to a back injury killed the momentum for him. He would have scored and secured a win if not for the four-week absence.
He failed to secure a single top-10 finish since his return from injury and has four more races to secure a win in the regular season before the playoffs. Of the four coming races, two are road courses where he won’t be the top contender, and every driver is a contender for a win at Daytona, the final race of the regular season. This makes Michigan the most important track for him, and he will be hoping to come out victorious there.

Fans on social media had a mixed reaction after announcing the sponsorship deal and paint scheme of Detroit Pistons, reportedly worth $1.9 billion. Some were happy for the driver and the team and shared their hopes that Bowman could end his winless run there. Few fans used the opportunity to mock the Pistons and the driver for not competing at the level they should be.
