Kyle Larson secured his 24th career NASCAR Cup Series win and the first of the 2024 season on Sunday in Las Vegas. He dominated the race by sweeping all the stages and leading over 180 laps. Larson faced a tough battle from 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick in the No:45 Toyota in the final laps.

But the 2021 cup champion reigned supreme after he was able to masterfully defend the charging Reddick long enough to score a win with an impressive 0.4-second margin. A significant pit-stop error from the 23XI team also helped Larson in closing the deal and securing a playoff berth.

After the race Larson, as he always does, produced a masterful smoke show for the fans who witnessed his win. He ripped the hell out of his No:5 Chevy Camero ZL1 tires while producing huge white smoke by burning his tires. He has over the years mastered the art of burnout as he does it more often than any other driver on the track.  NASCAR even posted graphics asking fans if it was time to declare Larson as the burnout king.

He then proceeded to exit the cars and celebrated the win with his children who dashed to him after his car came to a rest in the infield. His son Owen was the first on the scene and later his daughter Audrey joined as well. They even got to ride to the victory lane on his lap.

Here is how fans responded to the NASCAR on X

Fans on social media quickly started the discussion on the topic and had mixed responses to it. Some were quick to assert that Larson should be declared as the burnout king considering how smooth he has been over the years.

At the same time, there were also some fans making a case for their favorite drivers. 2017 Cup champion Martin Truex Jr. and two-time Cup champion Joey Logano made it to the list. There were also some who, with ill or a dark comedy intention, mentioned Larson’s n-word controversy from 2020.
