NASCAR Hall of Fame nominees for the class of 2024 were announced recently, and some legendary names are on the ballot. Most of them have a good chance of being inducted in 2024. NASCAR added three new names to the list of 15 nominees. The last three addition were the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, his crew chief Chad Knaus who helped attain those seven titles, and the ten times Cup Series winner Donnie Allison

Allison was added to the Pioneer Ballot, designed to pay tribute to those who started their careers more than sixty years ago. The voting is scheduled for August 2nd, with ten nominees on the Modern Era Ballot and five on the Pioneer Ballot.

Out of those ten, two NASCAR icons will be selected, and out of the five names, one will be inducted next year. The nominees for the Modern Era Ballot include Neil Bonnett, Tim Brewer, Jeff Burton, Carl Edwards, Harry Gant, Harry Hyde, Johnson, Knaus, Larry Phillips, and Ricky Rudd.

Apart from the Modern Era Ballot and Pioneer Ballot, there is also a Landmark Award. The Landmark Ballot includes Lesa France Kennedy, Janet Guthrie, Alvin Hawkins, Dr. Joseph Mattioli, and Mike Helton. NASCAR fans were mostly happy with the new nominees. Some were even surprised that Jimmie Johnson is not already in the Hall of Fame. “How a 7-time champ isn’t already in the Halls is a mystery. The entire class is stellar,” was one user’s comment.

NASCAR fans congratulated Chad Knaus and Jimmie Johnson and were delighted for the duo. “CONGRATULATIONS JIMMY AND CHAD WERE AN OUTSTANDING DUO,” “Pretty cool to see Chad and Jimmie go in at the same time,” and “Johnson and Knaus should be a lock .  If they both don’t get in at the same time oiling their 1st year of eligibility the voting panel got it wrong,” were some of the reactions. Take a look at the others below.

Fans hope that Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus will be inducted together as they had a successful partnership. They kept winning and astonished the NASCAR world. It is safe to say that the fans are so emotional regarding this and claim the duo owned the sport for over a decade.
